How To Create Hate and Discontent in America

I haven't written about Ferguson because I've known too little to add value. But ignorance hasn't stopped others from stirring up hate and discontent. For example, Missouri's shakedown artist, Lacy Clay. Lacy Clay, speaking from a private island in the Carribean, told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch that Michael Brown was murdered. Clay knew or should have known the effect of his words: more violence. Either Clay meant to incite violence or he has a casual disregard for the effect of his irresponsible speech. Then again, it's easy to stir up hate and discontent if you can fly away to some private island when the killing starts.

Lacy Clay represents only one bastion of ignorance in the sordid and embarrassing affair playing out in North County.

  • Michael Brown's autopsy has not been released.
  • No video of the incident has been released.
  • No witness has testified under oath.
  • The police officer who shot Mr. Brown has not testified under oath.

On the other hand, here's what we do know:

  • An 18-year-old is dead.
  • The police officer who shot him is on leave.
  • Hooligans have destroyed blocks of businesses in Ferguson.
  • The police have harassed the innocent and ignored calls reporting looters.
  • Hundreds of millions in lethal military weaponry did not stop looting and shooting.

These lists--what we know and what we don't--leave very little for responsible grown-ups to discuss regarding Ferguson. We can mourn the loss of life. We can pity and pray for Mr. Brown's parents. (When my daughter died, a clergyman told me, "no parent should ever know what's like to bury a child." ) We can decry the looting. We can criticize those like Lacy Clay who make irresponsible assertions that they cannot defend. And we can question the value of arming local "constables," as Mark Steyn describes police, with weapons designed to kill scores of people in war.

Let's go with that one: weapons of mass destruction in the hands of local cops.

Before I get into my rant, let me tell you that my father was a St. Louis city police officer, and I was accepted into the academy. (Another job offer came along before I classed up. We needed the money.) Please don't call me "anti-police."  I am not. I am anti-oppression.

Why do police need armored personnel carriers, Bradley fighting vehicles, and Humvees? Seriously. I trust my neighbors and concealed carry permits far more than I trust a militarized and segregated police force that's rapidly turning itself into an armed and dangerous occupation force.

As Mark Steyn says:

So, when the police are dressed like combat troops, it's not a fashion faux pas, it's a fundamental misunderstanding of who they are. Forget the armored vehicles with the gun turrets, forget the faceless, helmeted, anonymous Robocops, and just listen to how these "policemen" talk. Look at the video as they're arresting the New York Times and Huffington Post reporters. Watch the St Louis County deputy ordering everyone to leave, and then adding: "This is not up for discussion."

"But, what about the looters?" you ask. What about them? The police failed to respond to reports of looting and gunfire on Friday night. I know this from police officers who were at the scene. Meanwhile, the heavy weaponry deployed earlier in the week, along with strong-arm police tactics, made enemies of civilians while failing to intimidate the looters and criminals. We know this beyond the shadow of a doubt.

The looters are free to wreck whatever havoc they wish on Ferguson, as long as they don't chant or pray. Back to Mr. Steyn's wonderful commentary:

Really? You're a constable. You may be carrying on like the military commander of an occupying army faced with a rabble of revolting natives, but in the end you're a constable. And the fact that you and your colleagues in that McDonald's are comfortable speaking to your fellow citizens like this is part of the problem. The most important of the "nine principles of good policing" (formulated by the first two commissioners of the Metropolitan Police in 1829 and thereafter issued to every officer joining the force) is a very simple one: The police are the public and the public are the police. Not in Ferguson. Long before the teargassing begins and the bullets start flying, the way these guys talk is the first indication of how the remorseless militarization has corroded the soul of American policing.

Until we know more facts revealed under oath and following the criminal trial procedure, I strongly urge everyone to stop ignorant speculation and wishful thinking. As we await the results of the process, pray for the people in Ferguson, especially those who lost a loved one. Pray for the business owners who may have lost their livelihoods. Pray for peace. And tell Congress to demilitarize our neighborhood constables before St. Louis County turns into Mogadishu.

Shout It Out: Renegade Arizona Sheriff Intimidating Citizens *UPDATE*

The incompetent Sheriff Dupnik of Pima County Arizona has intimidated speakers in an attempt to shut down the Tucson Tea Party.

clarence-dupnikNow, Tucson’s asking for our help.  Jennifer Humphries wrote to Gateway Pundit Jim Hoft. She asked Jim of his help defending the First Amendment rights of the people of Tucson. Those rights are under assault from an incompetent and irresponsible sheriff who has now turned to intimidation to silence dissent.

I don’t know if Ms. Humphries would want me, but I’d be honored to speak in Tucson on April 30.  I’d be honored to defy the Sheriff’s attempts to quash free speech in his county.  And I’d love to see a swarm of folks from Missouri and Illinois fill the arena for that showdown.

What You Can Do

1.  Make plans, if you can, to attend the Tucson Tea Party, April 30, 2011

2. Donate to the Tucson Tea Party

3.  Ask members of U.S. House and Senate committees on Judiciary and Civil Rights to investigate Department of Justice’s involvement in political intimidation.

When the Tea Party launched, its first theme was “Repeal the Pork or Retire.”  We retired a lot of them in 2010, but we have a long way to go.

Keep up the fight!

I sent  a short questionnaire to Sheriff Clarence:

I have received reports that your office has intimidated speakers scheduled to speak at events sponsored by Tucson Tea Party.

1.  Do you deny this charge?

2.  Will you attempt to intimidate me from speaking in Tucson at a Tea Party event?

While we await his reply, let’s have a sing-along:

Sheriff don’t like it
Rock the county,
Rock the county.

Left Doubles Down on Threats

What would you do?

Suppose you did something stupid.  You blamed the wrong person, for instance, for a capital crime.  Then supposed one of your comrades compounded your . . . error . . . by threatening to kill someone on national television?

BillMaherAngryIf you’re an American leftist, you might double down by issuing even more death threats to even more people.

That’s what’ happening right now in America.  Death threats are pouring into Trent Humphries, Tucson Tea Party organizer, Dana Loesch, Sarah Palin (who vows not to be silenced), Glenn Beck, and more.  The self-proclaimed conscience of America—collectivist lefists—have essentially declared war on the right.

Gateway Pundit and the St. Louis Tea Party Coalition issued a press release on January 17 denouncing the left’s continued threat of violence as means of advancing its anti-liberty agenda.

To counter the left’s increasing vitriol and violence, please publicly thank three people today.

I’ll start:

Thank you, Jim Hoft, for bringing to our attention the mounting threats Trent Humphries is receiving.

Thank you, Jen Ennenbach for crafting a great press release on the issues.

Thank you, Dana Loesch, for continuing to keep our voices in the national ear.

And a bonus:  thank you for honoring by reading my little web missives.

*UPDATE* J. Eric Fuller issues apology to Trent Humphries.

Is Bill Maher’s Vitriol Responsible for Arrest?

Last week, America’s sleaziest leftists—Bill Maher, Chris Matthews, Keith Olbermann, E. J. Dionne, Paul Krugman, others – have executed a prepared BillMaherAngrypropaganda war against anyone who disagrees with them. Their theorem is: vitriolic rhetoric inspires conservatives to act out in violence.

Unfortunately for the loony left, there was no evidence to support their theorem.  The evidence they falsely pointed to—Jarod Lee Loughner’s deranged murder rampage in Tucson—was determined to be a lie only hours after the event.

Undaunted, Maher, Krugman, Donne, Matthews, and crew continued to lie, lie, lie, lie.  They refused to let go of their story, false though it was.

On Saturday, the leftist “rhetoric = violence” cult got something close to vindication.  Perhaps responding to the hateful, violent rhetoric from Krugman, Matthews, Maher, Dionne, and Olbermann, Tucson shooting victim and hard-left activist, J. Eric Fuller, was arrested for communicating a direct threat against a tea party leader in Tucson. (More at Michelle Malkin.)

Fuller issued the threat after photographing tea party leader Trent Humphries. (Was the photo’s purpose to help the hit man ID the target?)

If Krugman, Matthews, Olbermann, Maher, et al, were correct in their assessment of blame to conservatives, then Krugman, Matthews, Olbermann, Maher, et al, are at least as guilty of conveying a threat as Fuller.

But if Krugman, Matthews, Olbermann, Maher, et al, were wrong about rightwing rhetoric, than I am wrong about their culpability in Eric Fuller’s psycho moment.

I think there are only two people responsible for their criminal actions: Loughner and Fuller. But I think Krugman, Matthews, Olbermann, Maher, Dionne, et al, are guilty of exploiting tragedy and emotions to destroy their political opponents.

Sheriff Dupnik’s Culpability

According to an internal Department of Homeland Security memo, Jarod Lee Loughner’s mother “works for Pima County Board of Supervisors.”

In the memo, obtained by Fox News and posted on Greta Van Susteren’s blog, the DHS agent openly speculates about undue internal influence.  That’s because Loughner’s arrests don’t all end with reasonable closure, if you will.

Here’s exactly what the DHS report says:

suspect’s mother works for the Pima County Board of Supervisors* the suspect has multiple arrests ... But no criminal record? Intervention by someone?

It’s not unreasonable to assume that that “someone” is Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik.

On Saturday evening, Dupnik took to the airwaves to create a sensation. He accused the people of Arizona, talk radio, Sharon Angle, Sarah Palin, and the tea party of complicity in murder, effectively.  The sheriff did so without evidence.

If Dupnik was involved in springing Loughner after one of the murderer’s many arrests, then Dupnik had strong motive to manufacture a bogeyman.  If Dupnik helped keep Loughner stay out of the state psych system, then his motive doubles. There’s mounting evidence that Dupnik is guilty of both.

We already know that Dupnik refused to uphold Arizona’s SB1070.  We already know that he holds the people of Arizona in the highest contempt.  A law enforcement officer who despises the people he’s sworn to protect and who refuses to enforce the law he’s sworn to uphold is unfit for office.

If I were Arizona’s Attorney General, I’d be asking putting together a case for some warrants.

But, as Dennis Miller would say, that’s just my opinion; I could be wrong.

A National Day of Shame

It’s bad enough that five people died, including a wonderful nine-year-old girl. It’s bad enough that a dozen or more people were shot.

It’s bad enough that a deranged man attacked our American system.

But America’s liberal elite turned the tragedy into a national day of shame.  They accomplished this by callously and capriciously blaming innocent political opponents for the violence.  When confronted with facts to the contrary, liberals, including Paul Krugman, CBS News, the New York Times, CNN, MSNBC, Jane Fonda, Sheriff Dupnick of Pima County Arizona, and others, continued to lie, slander, and libel the tea party, Rush Limbaugh, Sarah Palin, Glenn Beck, and conservatives in general.

Liberalism is at war with the American system.

On New Year’s Even, liberal icon Frances Fox-Piven called for a violent overthrow of the American system.  Liberals attacked anyone who criticized Fox-Piven’s hatred.

On December 17, Missouri Democrat Claire McCaskill called for violence if Congress extended the Bush tax cuts.  Gabrielle Giffords, the target of Jared Loughner’s murderous rampage, voted to extend those tax cuts.

There is no CNN special investigaing McCaskill’s hateful call for violence. Why not?

Why are liberals allowed to encourage murder while conservatives are vilified even for pointing out liberal hate? Where are the calls for McCaskill’s resignation?  As PO’ed Patriot points out, the leftist media use tragedy as a weapon.

It’s a shameful day in America.

Alleged Giffords Shooter: Jared Loughner Leaves Video *UPDATES*

Update:  Gateway Pundit has much more on the alleged shooter.

These appear to be the paranoid ramblings of the man in custody for shooting Rep. Gabrielle Giffords and 11 others, including a federal judge, in Tucson, AZ.  Lots of hard left references in his favorite books, including Mein Kampf and The Communist Manifesto. Politico’s Ben Smith calls Laughner’s writings “socialist.”

Another Video by alleged shooter in Arizona made 3 weeks before shooting

This stuff is beyond me.  Fodder for the criminal psychologists.

Note:  Correct last name is “Laughner” not “Loughner” as I originally posted.  Sorry.  His first name has appears as both Jerod and Jarod.  This should settle out shortly as we learn more.

AND we’re back to Loughner.  (I should have trusted his own Myspace page which has since been removed.)

1.  A woman claiming to be a classmate of Jarod Lee Loughner’s describes the alleged murderer as a “leftist” “anti-flag”

UPDATE: Go With Hope—reports that Gabrielle Giffords is still alive, needs our prayers

Like all decent people, I am disgusted to hear the sad news out of Tucson, AZ: Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-AZ) was shot and killed along with four others today.  Twelve were shot altogether. The murderer was apprehended by heroic bystanders and is in custody.

Not sure of the young murderer’s motives.  I’m sure they weren’t worth killing or dying for.  Except to him.

Please prayer for the souls of the faithful departed, the well-being of their families, the quick recovery of the wounded, and the delivery of justice.

UPDATE:  It gets worse.  A small child is among the dead.

And hatemongers at Daily Kos wasted no time in blaming Sarah Palin according to blogger Joel Achenbach at WaPo.

UPDATE 2:  Rep. Giffords reportedly in surgery.  Our prayer are with her.

Leftists like Yglesias, Kos, and HuffPo continue to blame tea party, Breitbart, and Sarah Palin. Disgusting, sick, vile. Here’s an example from HuffPo:

Gabrielle Giffords Shot In The Head

Meanwhile, DailyKos has deleted a damning post from a leftist angry at Giffords for voting AGAINST Nancy Pelosi.  But Jim Treacher grabbed a screen shot before Kos could rewrite history.

UPDATE:  Arizona State Senator Lynda Lopez blames Tea Party for the shooting. If you’d like to talk to Sen. Lopez about it, here’s her contact information:

Innocent Until Proven Conservative

Within hours of reports of a firebombing at Rep. Russ Carnahan’s (D-MO) campaign finance office last Tuesday, St. Louis’s leftist bloggers leapt to the cause. In what seems to have been a coordinated attack, Riverfront Times and several progressive blogs and web sites ascribed culpability for the crime to St. Louis Tea Partyers.  At one point, Chad Garrison of RFT flatly stated that the suspect “fit the description” of a tea partyer, a statement he later attempted to soften by claiming that firebombing is “too sane” a crime for Tea Partyers. Gateway Pundit broke the story on August 25, that the lone suspect in the case is a former Carnahan staffer and progressive activist. The leftist bloggers continued to lie, continued to obfuscate, and continued to deflect culpability toward St. Louis Tea Party until Rep. Carnahan admitted that the case appeared to be an inside job.  The leftist bloggers shameless and with malice stretched reason and defied logic the way a child does when attempting to avoid punishment for failing to do his homework.

Now that Congressman Carnahan has been forced to admit that the suspect is a former employee and that his office was aware of the fact for some time, the significance of this story begins to strike home.

  • Carnahan knowingly allowed conservatives to take false blame for the crime.  His office staff even joked online about the attack.
  • Carnahan’s staff lied to the press about being members of the campaign . . . on second thought, denying any association with the Carnahan campaign is completely reasonable, even if it is dishonest.
  • St. Louis media – some knew the ID of the suspect – could have at least mentioned that the suspect was not a conservative.  This was not the paid press’s greatest moment.
  • Arsonists are very disturbed individuals. It seems odd for the city counselor to order the suspect’s release while awaiting reports from the lab.  Here’s a profile of arsonists from American Chronicle:

Ninety percent of fire setters are male. They are preoccupied with fire. They get an emotional release from starting fires. There may be sexual overtones. Some researchers claim fire setters are sexually repressed males who masturbate at the fires they set. Whether this is a fact or not, many fire setters are social outcasts and tend to have unsuccessful relationships with women. Fire gives them an excitement they cannot find elsewhere. Finally, for many, fire setting satisfies their need to be recognized and establishes their sense of self worth.

For others, setting fires is an act of aggression. It allows them to express anger and frustration which they are unable to do in their daily social interaction. Many have repressed rage for authority figures. Some get the satisfaction of "getting away with a crime."

And from WebMD, according to the FBI:

According to a 1987 report in the FBI Law Enforcement Bulletin, the vast majority of "profiled" arsonists have a below-normal IQ -- typically between 70 and 90. About one in four fall in the below-70 IQ range that qualifies them as mentally retarded -- not to say that all mentally retarded children are going to grow up to be arsonists.

We love due process. But the person who torched Carnahan’s office is a person who belongs behind bars or in an institution, no matter how long he worked for the Carnahan campaign. You throw a bomb, you go to jail. But, in this case, the Carnahan people played politics with a guy who seems to be in need of serious help.

This whole episode shows that Carnahan is unfit for Congress, that Tea Partyers deserve apologies from many quarters, and that Democrat-on-Democrat crime is a growing problem in America. Oh, and one other thing: in this country, you’re innocent until proven conservative.

How to Answer Chavez

Communist dictator Hugo Chavez has has stolen eleven oil rigs owned by the American company Helmerich and Payne. As Reuters points out, Chavez has now nationalized oil, telecommunications (including news), power, steel, and banking.

If you’re keeping score, Chavez leads Obama 5-3, as Obama so far has managed to seize only banking, automotive, and healthcare. But Obama has vowed a comeback.

Over the weekend, I had the pleasure of cutting and splitting some oak and hickory with a friend.  His “What Would Reagan Do” answer to the question of foreign governments seizing American property?

Don't Feed the Democrats

In less than twenty-four hours, the left has demonstrated its incapacity for civilized living by physically assaulting a college student, then exclaiming the virtues of physical assaults on reporters.

A Democrat member of Congress assaulted a college student.  The assault, shown on two video angles, was unprovoked (unless asking a simple, closed question is now cause for violence) and continuing long past the point at which the victim said stop.

Then, throughout the day, the left rallied around the perpetrator, blaming the victim AND blaming people who weren't even there.  The Washington Post begs to know who the reporters were, as if that's the most important information.  Mediaite says "Etheridge's actions are only partially defensible."

What? Partially defensible? Are you kidding? Perhaps Mediaite wanted the Congressman to whack the kid. After all, the Obama regime would cover for him, right? And CNN won't mention it. MSNBC thinks Etheridge is a hero.

For kicks, let's reverse this. Let's say that a conservative Republican beat up a Code Pink freak.  What would today's events have looked like?

1o:00 a.m. President Obama releases statement saying, "While no one has all the facts, I believe Congressman Wingnut should resign immediately. I have ordered the Attorney General to immediately investigate this case as a federal criminal civil rights violation, and my administration will prosecute Congressman Wingnut to the fullest extent of the law."

10:18 a.m. A shaken Nancy Pelosi holds a press conference in the media suite of her $18,000 a month office.  She has asked the ethics committee to dispense with normal procedure and hold a vote on expulsion tomorrow unless Congressman Wingnut resigns sooner. "And he can't come back into the House chamber because I have obtained an order of protection against this animal."

10: 24 a.m. Republican Minority Leader, John Boehner, holds a press conference stating he stands by Congressman Wingnut.

10:26 a.m. Republican Minority Leader Boehner issues a statement that "I have regrettably asked Mike to resign  for the good of the Congress and the country."

11:00 a.m. Congressman Wingnut resigns.

2:30 p.m. Wingnut surrneders to FBI agents after the DoJ issued a warrant for his arrest on suspicion of civil rights violation.

3:30 p.m. The uninjured Code Pinko nut is a national celebrity, forcing her doctors to double her lithium dosage.

Wow.  Did you think  the American left would sink so low so fast. And, aren't you a little worried that they feel immune from prosecution. What chilling memo from the White House gave the Etheridge the green light to go postal on a kid? Can anyone seriously, with a straight face, claim that the Democratic party is still a civilized organization?

Seriously.  Who thunk up this strategy?  Biden?  I can hear the meeting now.

RAHM:   . . . and the Gallup numbers suck even worse. We're down in the low forties  . . . um . . . what now, Joe?

JOE:  Are there going to be refreshments?  My secretary said something about refreshments.

RAHM:  into intercom but staring at Joe Debbie, can  you bring the vice president a  . . . ? gestures with hands, palms up, shrugs

JOE:  Oh, Scotch.  Neat. Something good, like from an Island.

RAHM:  At Joe. Yeah. To intercom. An Isle of Jura. Neat.  No, that's good enough. Back to Joe.  So we need to do something to get the president's numbers back up  . . . Joe's raised his hand is making a moaning sound.  Yeah, Joe. Again?  Really? What?

JOE: I know!  I got it!  Let's beat the crap out of those kids with with video cameras. You know, like that guy that ambushed the guy from Illinois or Idaho or somewhere funky like that?  Let's just, ya know, beat 'em up. That's how we did things back in Scranton.  My mom wouldn't spit on me if I didn't kick some kid's ass two or three times a week.

RAHM:  You get right on that, Mr. Vice President. I'm sure the President will appreciate it.

JOE:  You betcha.  Hey, you think that drink's ready yet?

[Exit Joe, stage left.]

The American left: not just wrong--dangerous.  So keep your hands in the car, the windows rolled up, and, whatever you do, don't feed the Democrats.

4 Ways to Stop Democrat Sen. Bob Casey From Stealing Your Tax Money to Reimburse SEIU for Bribing Media Matters and Huffington Post

Dana Loesch and 24th State have revealed the ring of corruption that extends from St. Louis bloggers and local St. Louis leftist rag, through SEIU, to Media Matters and Huffington Post.

An additional crook in this den of thieves is Democrat Senator Bob Casey of Pennsylvania. Casey has introduced yet another bailout package.  This time, the bailout is intended to repay corrupt unions like SEIU and AFL-CIO for bankrupting their members’ retirements by bribing the media and politicians.

Here’s what it looks like.

.prezi-player { width: 550px; } .prezi-player-links { text-align: center; }

What You Can Do

  1. Call any SEIU member you know and ask them to quit the corrupt union that beats innocent people for political gain.
  2. Melt Senator Bob Casey’s phone lines and flood his in box (Address and phones below).
  3. Ensure Democrat Bob Casey is a member of the minority following November 2010 elections.
  4. Redistribute, embed the Prezi above everywhere you can.

This is corruption compounded by physical, criminal assault and political intimidation. And Bob Casey want you to fund it at gun point.

Is Obama Using SEIU to Terrorize Citizens?

Interesting.   Mounting evidence suggests the White House may have been complicit in SEIU’s terrorism (as defined by U.S. Patriot Act) of a banker’s teenage son

Quit the SEIU.  No decent person would belong to an organization that openly, and with the federal government’s approval, uses terrorism to get its way.

Quit the DC Metro Police Force.  The President is using you to promote domestic terrorism.  Fight him—the real enemy.

Finally, is there anything more hypocritical and disgusting than a healthcare worker who joins the SEIU?  I suppose they use their thugs to drum up business. Sinful.

Read a great book on criminal history of the SEIU and its leaders: Devil at My Doorstep.

Gloriously Goring Gore

The Huffington Post (of all things) brings us a most cogent, concise, and accurate repudiation of Al Gore and the whole "climate change" Nazi crowd (h/t ICECAP).  Harold Ambler deserves the Nobel Prize for truth stating.  Some highlights.

Strike One:  How Al Gore (and Hansen and the rest) lie to you about climate change:

First, the expression "climate change" itself is a redundancy, and contains a lie. Climate has always changed, and always will. There has been no stable period of climate during the Holocene, our own climatic era, which began with the end of the last ice age 12,000 years ago.

Strike Two:  How Al Gore (and Hansen and the rest) thwart discussion by pre-emptive name-calling:

Mr. Gore has gone so far to discourage debate on climate as to refer to those who question his simplistic view of the atmosphere as "flat-Earthers." This, too, is right on target, except for one tiny detail. It is exactly the opposite of the truth.

Strike Three:  How Al Gore (and Hansen and the rest) get their basic math and science wrong--in a way that a 5th grader can see:

Meanwhile, the theory that carbon dioxide "drives" climate in any meaningful way is simply wrong and, again, evidence of a "flat-Earth" mentality. Carbon dioxide cannot absorb an unlimited amount of infrared radiation. Why not? Because it only absorbs heat along limited bandwidths, and is already absorbing just about everything it can.

Strike Four:  (Yeah, I'm over the limit--so is Gore)  How Al Gore (and Hansen and the rest) lie and lie again about the basic "science" of global warming:

This mechanism has never been shown to exist. Indeed, increased temperature leads to increased evaporation of the oceans, which leads to increased cloud cover (one cooling effect) and increased precipitation (a bigger cooling effect).

The Reality of Climate Change

In one highly readable article, Ambler covers all of the major errors, lies, and outright frauds committed by Al Gore and the whole AGW world.  What Ambler doesn't cover is this:

Why do so many ordinary folk with no skin in this game buy into Gore's and Hansen's fraud?

Most people in North America are really, really ignorant when it comes to the intersection of politics and science.  People tend to scrutinize a politician's stand on defense, finance, etc., but they seem to trust whatever a politician says about things like global warming.   Since conservatives, for the most part, refuse to discuss global warming (including most conservative bloggers) our of fear of official reprisals, the public hears only one side of the debate.  Until some Republican or conservative blogger has the courage to say, "Al Gore and James Hansen lie to you every day about global warming in order to steal money and power from you," people will buy the Gore-Hansen lie.

Easily Debunked

Anthropogenic Global Warming (AGW) is as easily debunked as Bernie Madoff's Ponzi scheme.  The purveyors of Carbon Trading are just as guilty of fraud as Bernie Madoff.  When you see that Gore and Paulson stand to make billions of dollars (just like Madoff) from convincing you that AGW is real and based on science, you'll see that you are being ripped off.

Please read Ambler's article and begin to see the truth.

Addicted to Entitlement

Entitlement is the psychological abnormality in which a person believes that he is owed an enrichment or compensation earned by suffering or activity and that society or government is obligated to pay.  It is a psychological condition.  It is abnormal--or should be.

When a team of governors demands that the federal government steal wages and profits of the citizens and transfer those monies to state governors to dispense as the governors see fit, one wonders whether or not the disease is now the norm.

Governors [all Democrats] of five U.S. states urged the federal government to provide $1 trillion in aid to the country's 50 states to help pay for education, welfare and infrastructure as states struggle with steep budget deficits amid a deepening recession.

Over-extended States Should Fail

The reason the states cannot pay their bills is because they have engendered entitlement among their constituents.  Being convinced that food, clothing, shelter, medicine, entertainment, and happiness are divine rights and that government exists to fulfill those rights, these constituents believe working for their own survival a moral outrage.  In other words, the people are lazy.

The governors (plus Democrats in the House and Senate) feed the entitlement condition by reinforcing it.  Barack Obama and most Democrats ran on the principle that there is no connection between privilege and responsibility.  Obama has long preached that it is government's duty to provide every human want regardless of human behavior.

These states and others have created monsters of government largesse.  They have made laws that guarantee citizens effortless living.  But governments have no way of paying for these programs except by stealing the property of their citizens.  In other words, every state that guarantees enrichment to its citizen is immoral.  Every voter who votes for a candidate in hopes the candidate will steal from other or from them is committing the sin of stealing.

Entitlement is Dangerous

The federal government has extended this principle, now, to banks, brokerage houses, and the automobile industry.  By March, the government will have extended it to newspapers, steel, airlines, advertising, and other businesses and industries.  There seems no end to America's desire for a free lunch.

But the government cannot pay its bills.  Attempts to allow the American people to live a life of Reilly without consequence has created an enormous deficit.  Even as some Americans attempt to shift their own lives from consumption to savings, the government is discouraging this move toward responsibility.  Instead of encouraging sound financial planning, the government encourages reckless credit spending by businesses and consumers.

Cost of Entitlement

No one can accurately calculate the cost of the entitlement disease on society.  Monetarily, the number is somewhere around $17 trillion--$56,666 per person in the United States.  The number grows by about $2,000 per day.  This is money you owe and will be required to pay.  You will go to jail if you don't make you payments.  Yet you never signed a promissory note.

The human cost is even higher.  Drug addiction, homelessness, domestic violence, aborted and abandoned children, foreclosure and bankruptcy are all symptoms of entitlement mentality run amok.  The ultimate cost is destruction of American society's foundations.

Fix It Now

Could you let go of your entitlement mentality?  If not, you are dooming yourself, your children, and millions of others to lives of insatiable greed and want.  If you could let go, then do it.  Vote only for candidates who believe--in their words and writings going back to high school--that the government is limited to the powers enumerated in the Constitution, that stealing is stealing whether legalized by legislatures and judges or not, that we are entitled to live, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness guaranteed by a government that stays the hell out of our shorts.

Remember Ronald Reagan's first inaugural address:  "We are a nation that has a government; not the other way around."

"Mother F****er"

Wow.  Why does news like this always break when I'm at work? Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich did the perp walk for his Chicago neighbors this morning.  Others have written plenty about the facts of the indictment (here, here, here, here, and here).  You should know two things:

1.  There's a chance Obama will pardon Blagojevich before he goes to court.  Why?  Because Obama is too close not to.  Blagojevich is NOT AN HONORABLE CROOK.  He will throw Obama under in a heartbeat.  With the Justice Department expanding the Rezko-Obama land scandal investigation, with two of Obama's closest associates (Rahm Emanuel and David Axelrod) and Obama himself having served as paid adviser's to Blagojevich , the risks to the new administration are too great to allow the governor to go to trial.  UPDATE: John Kass, writing in the Trib, wonders if Blago will sing for reduced charges.  Told you this would get interesting.

2.  The indictments were timed to precede Obama's inauguration.  This indictment would have been buried, the tapes destroyed, had Obama's justice department learned of the scope of the corruption.  Fitzgerald had to move before the transition team learned that the FBI had the goods on Obama's buddy.

3.  This whole episode is a great lesson in how Democrat politics works.  Blagojevich was using the power of the state purse to control the news coming out of the Chicago Tribune, to funnel money from a children's hospital into his own pocket, and to control a labor union.  This is Democrat at its best.  The only difference between Chicago Democrats and the others is that the Chicago breed are too stupid to cover their tracks.

This should be the most interesting story in the news for the next month.  If Obama pardon's Blagojevich , look for the GOP to take back the House in 2010.

**UPDATE** David Axelrod previously endorsed trading political appointments for cash in a 2005 Chicago Tribune Op-Ed.  Obama's circle of corrupt friends gets more disturbing by the minute:  Axelrod, Baglojevich, Franklin Raines (who danced around Congress today), Rev. Wright, Tony Rezko . . . who am I missing?

**UPDATE** The Chicago Tribune's Wednesday editorial is up online.  It's brief and reveals nothing new, but it's worth reading, nonetheless.  The sheer ballsiness of Blagojevich is astonishing.  The stupidity, if portrayed in a work of fiction, would render the script amateurish.  What were you people thinking when you voted for this idiot?  And what does it say of Obama's vaunted judgment that he campaigned for and worked for the most ineptly corrupt politician in the history of America's most corrupt city and state?  Staggering is an understatement.
