The Worst of Humanity and the Absence of Leadership in Ferguson

I should be in bed. But I can't take my eyes off the images of Ferguson burning to the ground. A liberal friend on Twitter admonished me not to be political. Maybe he's right.

But I'm pretty sure Dellena's 911 Beauty Salon burned in Ferguson tonight. It seems everything else has, too. The airport is closed. St. Louis's image may be taking a fatal blow. The region might go the way of Gary, Indiana.

And the governor is absent. The National Guard is nowhere to be seen.

Mandy Murphy on KTVI Fox 2 has reported numerous times the governor promised Ferguson officials and businesses that the National Guard would be there to protect their lives and property.

At least eight buldings are burning to the ground. Bakeries. Restaurants. Parts stores. I shopped in most of them this summer and fall during BUYcotts.

People are watching their humble livelihoods burn.

The fire departments are standing by. They want to fight the fires, but they can't. They can't because the police presence is insufficient to suppress sniper fire from the human feces that use tragedy to unleash evil on good people.

Meanwhile, the governor is absent. He's chasing that buck that he refused to stop in a disastrous interview that exposed his feebleness.

And, doesn't the Attorney General have a role in all this? I haven't heard his name.

I don't know how we remove a governor in Missouri, but it's damn time to get that ball rolling.

God bless the people of Ferguson. And may God unleash swift and fearful justice to the bastards responsible for this.

UPDATE: The Governor is not taking calls from Ferguson Mayor as he pleads for National Guard support. He cannot get through to any of our Congressional delegation.  Care to explain Claire McCaskill? Roy Blunt? Ann Wagner? Lacy Clay? This is the time that leaders lead.

UPDATE:  After hours of pleading and tweeting, Govenor Nixon claims he's ordered more National Guard for Ferguson. At this point, one Guardsman would be more. (1:11 am)

Your Rights In Missouri Are Unprotected. Vote For Ed Martin For Your Own Security

Please forward this post to everyone in your email address book. Use the buttons below to share on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, StumbleUpon, Reddit.  Tell your family that their vote for Ed Martin for Attorney General is your best defense against a Washington power machine run amok. http://youtu.be/kRy2XWvGe38

Ed Martin's opponent doesn't seem to realize that the job of Missouri's Attorney General is to represent our state. The AG isn't just some high-ranking prosecutor. We have many fine prosecutors protecting us in almost every jurisdiction.

Yes, the Attorney General's office gets involved in state prosecutions.  But the Attorney General also protects Missouri from Washington overreach.

Well, the AG is supposed to protect Missouri's interest.  We've been without protection against federal meddling for years. That's the key distinction between our current Attorney General and Ed Martin. Chris Koster Super Cop has not lifted a finger to protect you, your family, your business, or your future from Washington politicians. Ed Martin will.

Get protection. Vote for Ed Martin for Attorney General on November 6.  Your liberty depends on it.

St. Louis Police Department Is Crumbling, But You Can Vote to Save It

You get the feeling that Rex Sinquefield holds a grudge against his home state, and he’s using some of his fortune to punish us. Rex gave a quarter million dollars to Obama’s Lawyer, Chris Koster. But that wasn’t his first assault on us. Rex’s war against the St. Louis Police Department is older and far more bitter.

Rex wants to force the state to surrender the Board of Police Commissioners for St. Louis. He wants his pal and financial ward, Mayor Francis Slay, to control the police department, and its pension fund, just as Slay and his cronies control the hapless St. Louis Fire Department.

Under the plan Rex has financed, Slay would control the police board exclusively. Police officers would no longer be open to those with a passion for law enforcement and order.  Instead, Slay would use police positions as rewards and promotions for other city workers.

Already, the city police department is losing top-flight officers to the county and other jurisdictions, according to veteran sources in the St. Louis Police Department.

“The young guys know the pension fund is all but gone. Slay will raid it just like he raids the firemen’s.” Rex's pet issue is to blame.

On November 6, Missourians have a chance to protect the police officers who protect citizens of and visitors to St. Louis. I beg you to VOTE NO ON PROPOSITION A on November 6.

If you want a safe St. Louis, vote NO on Proposition A.

In case I wasn’t clear, please vote NO on Proposition A.

And tell your friends.

*UPDATE* More on Prop A by Gary Weigert, a 32-year veteran of STLPD.

MORE: St. Louis Police Chief Isom announced his retirement. He's one of the youngest chiefs to retire, and after only 5 years. Guess he wants to grab his pension while it's still there.

Excellent Commercial by Ed Martin for Missouri Attorney General

Ed Martin’s new TV commercial is excellent for many fundamental marketing reasons. Ed’s energy, commitment, and love of people shines through. [youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jzJS2bqIlyY]

Still, the commercial is a waste of time and money unless people see it.

Here’s how you can helpbuy air time. If you want an Attorney General who will protect Missouri’s sovereignty and treasury, you can simply buy air time for this ad.

And there’s more you can do. Get involved in GOTV projects. Visit the Victory Fieldhouse in Valley Park (141 at I-44), the AFP Field office in St. Peters, MO, or the St. Louis Tea Party-Madison Project Liberty HQ in South County.

  • Put bumper stickers on all your cars, front and back
  • Put up yard signs for Ed Martin, Todd Akin, and other great candidates
  • Call some of the 1.2 million Missouri conservatives who don’t vote consistently
  • Go door-to-door to get out the vote of people who believe what you believe but don’t always vote
  • Donate to conservative candidates who don’t get big checks from billionaires

If you weren’t the kind of people who work hard to keep America strong, I wouldn’t bother asking.

St. Louis Tea Party’s HQ is open Noon to 8 pm Monday-Friday and Noon to 3 Saturday.

See you there!

BREAKING: Ed Martin Running for Attorney General in Missouri *UPDATE*

Ed Martin Jr. of St. Louis has redirected his fire to the Attorney General race, and this is great news for everyone except Chris Koster.

Back when Ed Martin was talking about running for the Republican nod to take on Claire McCaskill, I had another thought.  Well, a bunch of people had another thought: Ed would make an outstanding Attorney General.

*********UPDATE*********

HUGE list of endorsements on Ed’s official press release

******************************

I guess I was right. Ed Martin for Congress

I wasn’t disappointed that Ed chose to run for Todd Akin’s US House seat. Ed would make a great conservative legislator.  And as I said before, so will Ann Wagner, who can now focus on  . . . whichever Democrat decides to give a concession speech at 7:01 pm on November 6.

But, at this pivotal moment in history, as Attorney General, Ed Martin will be Missouri’s general in the war on Washington abuse.  Here’s why.

First, Ed has used his law license for the good of society, to protect life, to defend the wrongly accused, and to advance his—our—conservative principles.  He’s not a lawyer who’s in it for the money.  I’ve met some of the people he’s helped, and I’ve heard their stories.

In these battles, including a nationally covered battle against Illinois’s criminal Governor Rod Blagojevich, Ed Martin was tenacious, principled, and victorious.

Missouri needs an AG who will fight for the right things.

Second, Ed understands that the battle for liberty over the next 12 years will be fought between the states and Washington. The states—and only the states—have the Constitutional power and the economic leverage fight Washington and win.

The Several States vs. US Government will be ugly, long, and painful. [Insert your analogy here.]  Most people will lose their stomach before it’s over. People—even good conservatives—will want to throw in the towel and heel to the Washington monster.

Ed won’t.  He understands that Congress, with its entrenched establishment and elitist snobbery, is as close to a lost cause as you’ll find.  He wants to be one of 50 state attorneys general who, with their governors and secretaries of state, beat Congress into submission.(I said “ugly.”)

Ed Martin has a clear path to take on turncoat Democrat Koster in November.  That fight begins today. When Ed prevails in November, Missouri will have an Attorney General who actually has read and understands the 10th Amendment of the United States Constitution—and a man who’s smart to know it matters.
