Barack Obama Is Having a Very Bad Week, and Even WaPo Noticed

Barack Obama

The smartest man in the world can’t make a gaffe, surely. When Barack Obama says something ridiculous, mean-spirited, wrongheaded, or just plain dumb, he means it.

So we know Obama considers the murders of Ambassador Chris Stevens and three others mere “bumps in the road” to his re-election. Four bumps, to be precise.

When Obama says Israel is just “one of our strongest allies” in the Middle East, no longer our strongest, he means it.

When Obama refers to Israel’s fear of a nuclear Iran as “noise” that he intends to "block out," he means it.

He meant it when he said he the Constitution is a “fundamentally flawed document,” and he meant it when he said “I actually believe in redistribution” of wealth.

Barack Obama meant it when he returned Winston Churchill’s bust.  He meant it when partied in Vegas as terrorists attacked our consulates in Libya and Egypt.

Barack Obama’s worldview is easy to understand: he wants to reduce America’s prestige and to leave Israel twisting in the wind.

I Told You So! Democrats BOO God, Israel

As if reading from a script written by the Romney campaign, the Democrats on Wednesday managed to mangle their public image even further, this time by booing God and Israel.

On Tuesday, the Democratic National Convention stripped God's name from their platform and rejected Israel's choice of Jerusalem as its capital.

Wednesday, the party panicked and rushed in an amendment to restore God and Jerusalem. But the delegates wanted none of it.

Here's the damning video (h/t Tammy Bruce). [youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cncbOEoQbOg]

The story is that Obama himself, freaked out that America noticed God's absence, asked that someone put the traditional language back into the platform.

But the convening Democrats don't want God or Jerusalem in their platform. They clearly voted down the amendment.  Not once, but three times!

After the Democrats denied God three times before the cock crew, the chairman took a page from John Boehner's playbook and imagined that heard a two-thirds vote in the affirmative.

After the chairman ramroded the amendment through, the Democrats booed and hissedThe Democrats booed God and hissed Israel on live television.

Hey, maybe poor ticket sales wasn't the reason the Dems moved Obama's speech from a 70,000 seat stadium to a 20,000 seat auditorium.  They could be afraid of lightning.

Abraham, Isaac, and Todd

The story Isaac is about tests of faith. God commanded Abraham to sacrifice Isaac, his only son, born after Abraham and Sarah had given up hope of conceiving.

Once Isaac was bound and placed on the altar, God stayed Abraham's hand. "Now I know you fear God."

You know the rest.

It just struck me this morning, listening to the weather during Jamie Allman's show, that Isaac now threatens the GOP convention, dangling above Tampa like Abraham's dagger.

Then there's the Akin matter, half a continent away.

I know the mind sometimes sees patterns where none exists. But sometimes we're allowed to see patterns that hold the secret to something big.

A lot of us are willing to sacrifice everything to prove our faith--our faith in grassroots, our faith in God, our faith in country. Steadfastness in the face of danger, rushing toward the gunfire, are qualities we all honor.

I can't help wonder, though, if God is yelling to us and Todd, "Now I know you fear God," and we're not hearing it.

Had Abraham missed God's word, Israel would not have been born.

Stand With Israel

israel_flag Dear friend,

Go Israel

No, I’m not a war monger. But peace is not the absence of war. It’s the presence of peace.

israel_flag

If you live in Israel, you are not at peace. You are at war. War against a massive body of people who want to destroy you before they move on to destroy Christendom. If Christendom doesn’t destroy itself first.

So let’s all thank Israel for standing tall on the front lines of this epic battle between good and evil.  And thanks to Saudi Arabia for seeing the light.

And let’s stop pretending that it’s anything less than that.

Israel Continues Assault on Terrorists

Israel's assault on Hamas terrorists in Gaza continued for a second day.  As if reading from a script, the UN Security Council called for an immediate stop to Israel's self-defense.   As the air strikes continued, Israel has moved more troops and tanks to the border, possibly in preparation for an incursion into the area now under terrorist control.

Some internation responses were less than predictable, though.  France, for instance, demands first that the terrorists stop pitching rockets at Israeli school kids, then that Israel stop its air assault.  Fair enough, but few say that.  Except for France and the United States, international reaction is wholly anti-Israeli.

Barack Obama has made many anti-Israeli statements in his life.  Many of his foreign policy advisors are ardently anti-Israel.  Samantha Power was removed from the campaign for advocating that the US invade Israel and impose a pro-Palestian peace treaty, but she is now in line for senior post in the Obama White House.

Further, Obama has demonstrated an extreme lack of understanding or will in dealing with Iran. In a profoundly September 10th moment, he refered to Iran as a tiny country that could not pose a threat the United States.  Obama has not publicly condemned Iran's policy of seeking the elimination of Israel.

Put this together, and Israel must feel very alone in the world right now.  Her greatest ally since her formation, the US, seems to have joined ranks of the pro-Palestinian EU crowd.  As Iran, with Russia's backing, prepares to unleash nuclear hell somewhere in the world, Israel rightly flexes its muscles.  Someone must stand for freedom.
